Kick-back Rudderblade
2012-09-11 08:12An easy modification for any kick-back rudder blade.
By using a stronger (tighter) second screw the blade will only kick back when hiting an obstacle and not during a critical event such as a spin or a very hard turn.In addition there are no spare brass or nylon screws required as it is not damaged (cut) when the blade kicks back.Note that you need to file out the material between the screw hole and the front side of the blade at this point but following the "path" of the hole while the blade kicks back. This is easily achieved by attaching the blade to the bracket with the main screw only (not very tight so the blade can be pulled back) and marking the "path" while pulling the blade back.
